Meet the Team
Mark grew up here in Shiawassee county on a dairy farm. After graduating from Ovid-Elsie high school, he attended Lansing Community College and then Michigan State University where he received a Bachelor’s in Agricultural Science, followed by obtaining a teaching certificate from Saginaw Valley State University.
He taught high school biology in Stafford, VA for 4 years before returning home to work on the family farming operation. He has been married to his lovely wife, Stephanie, since 2009 and has two daughters, ages 10 and 8. They live on a farm in rural Owosso.
Janet grew up as a Texas girl – and Democrat of the Molly Ivins variety. She has been a Laingsburg resident for 25 years and worked in state government for 30 years as a public health consultant. She has a Bachelor's of Arts in Spanish and a Master's of Science in Human Nutrition.
She has three children and three grandchildren. Her interests beyond politics are travel, gardening, reading, and biking. Her broader passions are recycling and solar energy.
A resident of Owosso for the past eight years, Robert has completely immersed himself in the business of this community as an ambassador and cheerleader for this thriving city.
With a wide-ranging background of careers that includes 10 years as a professional opera singer, 18 years as a Wall Street marketing director/communications specialist and then consultant, and an entrepreneur/business owner, Robert is currently focusing on his art and volunteer community development.
Robert was the Executive Director of the Owosso Historical Commission for five years, sat on the Owosso Main Street Board and the Shiawassee County Convention and Visitors Bureau for four years and currently sits on the Downtown Owosso Farmers Market and the Owosso Amphitheater Boards. Robert lives in Owosso with his husband, Bob, and their two pups, Gizmo and Joey.
Born in Germany and moving to the United State at age three, Aaron has lived in Owosso for very nearly his entire life, graduating from Owosso High School with honors in 2011.
Aaron's family has an extensive history of military service, and he currently serves in the Michigan National Guard; participating in military emergency responses in Michigan, such as the Flint Water Crisis and the Coronavirus Pandemic.
The Democratic Party has been part of Aaron's life since college when he was an active supporter of President Obama and worked for his re-election campaign in conjunction with the Central Michigan University College Democrats. He was elected to the role of Secretary-Treasurer for the CMU Democrats and served in that office in 2012 and 2013. Aaron studies political science at Lansing Community College while working for McCarthy Construction, building a solar power plant in Shiawassee County.
