We have very sad news. Marcia Bird, Chairperson for the Shiawassee County Democratic Party, died of cancer, Monday. She faced her illness with hope and grace, and was weighing in on party matters even last week. Marcia did so much for our local party and beyond. She was a fearless leader, organizer and collaborator. Her outreach to CD7, the Rural Caucus and MDP helped to ensure Shiawassee County was well-represented and had the resources it needed to make a difference in our community and beyond. She will be dearly missed as a friend, as our chair and as a tireless advocate for Democratic values. We honor her work and will continue her legacy.
Visitation is Sunday, Sept 27th from 12-2pm at DeVries Nature Conservancy (one of her beloved places) with a service to follow. Our hearts go out to her husband, Dave, and family.

FALL ROADSIDE CLEANUP!

Volunteers are encouraged to join the Shiawassee Dems for our fall roadside cleanup. Enjoy a morning with fellow democrats, friends and family as we make a positive impact on the environment. Safety vests are provided. Sensible shoes, gloves and sunglasses are recommended. For more information or if you are unsure about the weather contact vicechair@shiawasseedems.org. Rain date is Saturday April 18 if needed.
